We’ve all had the feeling of waking up in the morning and just not wanting to get out of bed. Sometimes we blame it on the day before, not wanting a repeat of what happened yesterday.
It would be much easier to get the sheets off, if we just knew that this day would be better.
Although I can’t guarantee that a meteor won’t strike the earth today, ruining everyone’s day, I can share a list of things I do every day that helps make my days positive and productive.
So, without further ado, here are 8 things I do every day, that I hope will make your days better too.
It’s nice to start the day when everyone else is still sleeping. Waking up when its peaceful and quiet gives you the chance to wakeup gradually, instead of all at once, brightening your mood for the rest of the day.
And if you’d like to use those extra morning hours to get something done, our minds are most fresh in the morning, so it can be a nice way to get the most challenging things over with, to make the rest of the day easier.
Plan Your Days in Advance
Use some of those early morning hours to create a checklist of things you want to accomplish before bed. Writing things down helps program our brains to want to do them, and creates a commitment with yourself to get them done.
And if at some point you start feeling tired or lazy, not wanting to let yourself down will be a powerful motivator to check an item off your list before you take you a break.
You are what you eat. The food and drinks we consume have a greater effect on our energy and psyche then most people realize. But if you think about it, don’t you feel like junk a little, while after eating junk food?
Eat healthy, clean food throughout the day and drink plenty of water, to keep your body feeling good and your mind clear.
Prioritize your tasks
Before you can prioritize, you must first organize. Make a list of everything you need to do for the day, and then make a second list ordering your tasks from most important to least important. This way, you’ll be able to keep track of your progress you won’t lose time getting confused about what needs to be done first.
Do What You Love
It’s hard to find the motivation to work hard, when you’re unsure about the reasons for doing it. Do at least a little bit of what you love most each day, whether its spending time with your kids, cycling, or whatever else, to remind yourself why you do what you do. This way, when the time comes to work hard, you’ll be able to do it.
Doing a little of what we love is also good for the soul.
Do one thing at a time
One of the greatest mistakes many people do, is trying to juggle multiple tasks at the same time. This does not only make you get tired fast, but less productive. To get the best results, you need to be focused to details when performing each task. Make sure you perform each task thoroughly and complete it well, before you begin the next.
Take time to rest
Even the people with the most endurance need to rest at times. Our bodies and minds are incredible and can do amazing things when needed, but we still need to rest and rejuvenate. Make sure you don’t skip on lunch to give yourself sometime to unwind. You think you may be doig yourself a favour by working through lunch, but you might end up fatigued an may not be able to concentrate as clearly as fi you had given yourself a break. And if you need to work afrer work, take sometime to rest first,s o that you can smahs through theafter work work quicker.
